The perfect dinner, a meeting with Salvatore Esposito, crew and director

Food is said as a means of salvation. This is where La Cena Perfetta begins, the comedy by Davide Minnella starring Salvatore Esposito and Greta Scarano that from today until April 28 will be in cinemas and then visible on platforms.

Like a dish prepared from a fusion of different ingredients, La Cena Perfetta is a well-balanced mix of different genres: there’s romantic comedy, typical action crime, a sprinkle of humor that never hurts, mixed records that tell the story of Carmen (Salvatore Esposito), Camorista With a good heart and a bit of a mess, who leaves Naples to run a restaurant in Rome to launder dirty money on behalf of his boss who looks a bit like his putative father (Gianfranco Gallo). In Rome he collides to find himself teaming up with Consuelo (Greta Scarano), a talented and grouchy chef in search of perfection. A Daredevil Rise to Success: Mixing Camorra, haute cuisine and sentiment will end up in a relentless battle against ruthless critics and dangerous criminals. The love for food and the dream of winning a Michelin star will give them a second chance and a chance for redemption.

The importance of cooking

In addition to providing value to all heroes, the kitchen is the fulcrum of this story. Davide Minnella wanted to realistically recreate the ambiance and fast paced cuisine of a starred restaurant, so much so that he wanted real chefs on stage to make up the kitchen team.

Furthermore, to form Grata Scarano, Gianluca Fru of The Jackal (who plays Rosario in the movie) and other cast, star chef Cristina Bowerman was called in as a consultant.

“It’s a movie about food, but it’s also a crime comedy with some romantic notes. The gist of this movie, the element from which conflict and history arise, is the clash between two worlds: the upscale kitchen and the underworld of course. But also the encounter and conflict between two completely different characters that you’ll learn, During the story, love and accept each other in a completely unusual way “explains the director who is known for his autograph on many TV shows as an author” I tried, on the one hand, to be very meticulous, showing skill and attentiveness, mixed with the performance anxiety that characterizes the preparation of a large dish, and on the other hand, I moving the camera almost frantically between utensils, food, and cutlery in order to show the dance of colours, flavors, and emotions that I hope it entails.”

Salvatore Esposito, comedy and his new projects

Having finally ended Gomora’s dismissal by saying goodbye to Jenny Savastano, Salvatore Esposito is increasingly ready to show his maturity as an actor by launching into other film genres. Here he plays with comedy, and proves that he is comfortable with this recording. In The Perfect Dinner, he not only starred but also collaborated on the script with Minnella and the writing team.

The Perfect Dinner won’t be the only comedy we’ll see this year. In the coming months we will see him in the family comedy Rosanero by Andrea Porporati. While we wait, we’ll find him in the third season of Prime Video Celebrity Hunted, the realistic thriller that sees a group of celebrities flee the length and breadth of Italy, trying to keep their identity secret and preserve their freedom for two weeks, with limited economic resources. In Celebrity Hunted, she’ll find herself paired with Marco Demore.

Presentation at Comicon

The director and cast of La Cena Perfetta previewed the film for Comicon audiences, which sold out until the day of its closing. There was no shortage of queues at the entrances and they were also sold in the stalls for food, toys, T-shirts and any kind of gadget.

A long-awaited success after these two years of hiatus that underscores how much the comic show is a resource for Naples.

In the four days there were 135 thousand visitors. Result derived from the choice of COMICON organizers to reduce the number of admissions by up to 80% compared to 2019 to ensure a safe festival for the public.

More than 300 guests and 500 events packed the programs of the many spirits of the festival: comics, TV and film series, video games, games, Asian Village, Neverland and children. But COMICON does not stop there and in 2023 doubles: from April 28 to May 1 in Naples and from June 23 to 25, 2023 COMICON arrives in Bergamo.

“We have been waiting for the 22nd edition of COMICON for two years, due to Covid. We are glad that we were able to find our audience and exhibitors, all of whom are extraordinarily satisfied with the results of the festival. We will not forget the feelings I felt at the reopening,” declared Claudio Corsio, Director of COMICON. We do not stop here, we continue our strategic path as an international festival of pop culture, which operates all over the country with exhibitions and events: in 2023 we will be in Naples from 28 April to 1 May and from 23 to 25 June we will arrive in Bergamo. It’s a huge challenge we can’t wait to take on.”
