May 1st: Initiatives in Parma. Rock concert at Basilikanova

Finally, after two years of separation due to the pandemic, May Day Labor Day returns to the streets and squares also in our lands, with an integrated program of events organized by the secretariats of Cgil, Cisl and Uil counties.

“This is an essential opportunity to put the deeply intertwined themes of peace and labor – the keywords for Labor Day 2022 – at the heart of political, union and social initiative, the only prerequisite for potential growth.

Wars have always produced poverty, misery, and injustice: history knows—or should know, beginning with the last terrible global conflict and the liberation battles we have just celebrated—that only the heroic role of men and women workers can help to achieve and secure peace and development.

It is necessary to undermine the logic of war as a tool for regulating relations between states and peoples. Here, therefore, on May 1st, the request of all those working for peace, to invest money in work and health rather than buy arms, represents according to the Confederate trade unions the basic obligation to stop the drift of violence and prevarication. In which the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is the latest and closest example to us, it must be stopped.”

May 1st rock festival Traversetolo events in Parma

Rock returns to the streets of Traversetolo with the traditional concert on May 1, Labor Day. Two stages and eight bands, nearly nine hours of music, with concerts from 3 to 11:30 p.m., in honor of the great artist Fabrizio de Andre. In the main stage on Place V. Veneto bands from the local area will mingle with different genres – pop, folklore, blues, hard rock – while De Andrè songs will cheer up the afternoon at Fanfulla but there will be not only music. As always, on the streets of the center there will be refreshment points with the famous “sausage sandwich” and with the craft breweries of Articioc and Oldo. And there will be an impulse and inevitable market to be chosen with creators and artisans by Magic Market.

The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Traversetolo, is organized by Pro loco Traversetolo in cooperation with the municipal administration and with the contribution of Magic Market. Sponsors are All Glass, Conad Traversetolo, Emiliana conglomerati, and Prosciutteria Trascinelli.
The artistic direction is Lorenzo Cavazzini, who comes from the experience of the now-defunct Puerto Libre Club, which has organized the concert since 1996 and for 18 years, and Ugo Catabiani, former president of the Rigoletto Records Association.

Mayor Simon Dal Orto, Associations Counsellor Alicia Zeffiri, Technical Director Lorenzo Cavazzini and local Pro loco representatives participate in the event presentation press conference on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in the council chamber of Agreste Court. After the forced hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the return of the “old” artistic direction, for the launch of the 2022 edition, the organizers thought of a “back to the origins” message: in fact, there are active teams in the years that will perform in the 90/2000 years such as Marasma, Jacknifed Juggernaut and Bouganville.

Mayor Simone Dal Orto is satisfied: “Let’s start again from this 24th edition. When he took office in 2016, we followed the festival that was born with the Puerto Libre Club and took on a challenge that was not easy. We have been fortunate enough to always sponsor local businesses, which I extend my sincere thanks to her, as well as to all who participated in
This new adventure.

“We saw a proposal born from a group of people who are already experts in the field, a complete proposal that has been thought out in every detail, and which was immediately welcomed by the Pro loco. As administrators, we are satisfied with this synergy, the enthusiasm that infects everyone. Sad affected by the war, we are happy to witness this moment of understanding,
“Mutual respect and harmony,” Commissioner Alicia Zephyri added.

Lorenzo Cavazzini, the former organizer of the concert for years, does not hide his emotions: “The aim of the event has always been to give local bands the opportunity to perform on important and well-equipped stages in front of many people. 500 bands passed on stage, they were given a great view. We chose to claim “Back To Origins “because we’re actually bringing local bands back to the stage with original songs and bands from the ’90s and 2000s.”

Emanuela Pampianchi, Vice President of Pro loco, and Carlotta Rosati, Secretary, share the enthusiasm: “The concert, it will be the first major event after the pandemic, we are very excited. It is a great start that will be followed by initiatives in the future. Even merchants are happy with that.”
